We, as individuals, form strong bonds of love and affection with our pets.  Hence, it is only fitting and appropriate that we may wish to remember them with a memorial when they die.

Pet Headstone Construction

Our laser etched black granite pet headstones have been designed to compliment our range of funerary products.  A granite headstone will not oxidize or easily deteriorate, thereby maintaining good looks for hundreds of years.  The laser etching process allows us to etch a pet photo and inscription into the surface of the granite.

Unfortunately, photos of very black animals with no highlights or contrast do not reproduce well on black granite.  Pet headstones are 300mm high x 200mm wide.  There are nine different shapes to choose from.  The headstone has been designed so that a photo and inscription fit on the top half so that the bottom half can be buried in an appropriate location.

Pet Headstone bases

Pet headstones can be supplied with or without an optional black granite base.  The base has been designed specifically to support the pet headstone and display it at a convenient viewing angle.  Furthermore, when a pet headstone is installed on a base more space is available on the headstone for inscriptions, images etc.  A pet headstone granite base is 200mm x 200mm x 32mm with a suitably positioned slot to support the pet headstone. 

When a pet headstone is installed on a base, the base is positioned on the ground or partially buried in the ground and the pet headstone is fitted into the slot in the base.  Should the pet headstone be installed in a windy area, it is recommended that the headstone be fixed onto a small concrete base buried below the headstone base; a small Besser block or equivalent is sufficient.

Designing Your Pet Headstone

Each customer has the opportunity to personalize the design and layout of the laser etched granite images on their headstone using the exclusive pet headstone design section of our website.

Within this very simple design system, the customer selects their preferred headstone shape and then drafts their personalized inscription and uploads it onto the headstone design where it is sized and positioned appropriately by the customer.

The customer may then upload their own image or images onto the headstone design and or upload one or more images/art from the thousands of images in the Forever Shining website library.  Once again, the customer sizes and positions the images to suit their design.

When the customer is happy with the headstone design they may purchase the headstone after saving their design by clicking on the “save” icon and following the prompts at the shopping cart.

The customer may determine the price of their design at any time during the design process by clicking the “Check Price” icon on the design screen.

Ordering Your Pet Headstone

When you have finished your design, you may save the design to our server.  You will be asked whether you wish to upload some extra images and whether you wish to email your quotation to friends and relatives.

You may then purchase your design from our store.  Full instructions are given about the ordering process.
